No matter their nationality, passengers are well traveled, affluent, curious and friendly. Children 6 months and older are permitted to sail, but you won't find many kids onboard. You'll see more children -- often traveling with grandparents and parents -- on shorter sailings and during the holidays and over summer. Throw in some really excellent casual fare – pizza, salads and burgers -- and it's idyllic for a sea day. In fact, Silver Muse has lots of open outdoor space; the back of Decks 7, 8 and 9 all feature casual outdoor seating.
Silversea introduces 86 new cruises for winter 2021-2022
Also included in the cruise fare are specialty teas and coffees. Butler service is included for every guest, it’s a real treat. I also include video tours so you can see what they are really like.

In addition, guests staying in the Grand Suites can enjoy a complimentary dinner at La Dame. These 240-square foot suites have a large window and sitting area but do not have a veranda. The rest of the amenities are the same as seen in other suite categories. Silver Muse follows a casual dress code during the day, when passengers wear comfortable and weather/activity-appropriate clothing.

Whether you choose to enjoy the musical talents of the Voices of Silversea in the Venetian Lounge, or learn more about your itinerary during an enriching on board lecture, there’s entertainment for everyone. Curl up with a good book (and even better view!) at Tor’s Observation Library, enjoy a dip in the pool, relax in the Thermal Suite or work up a sweat at one of the fitness classes. With a staggering eight dining options, there really is a restaurant to suit every palette on board, from the exotic tastes of Asia at Indochine to the authentic flavours of Naples at Spaccanapoli. All fares are per person based on double occupancy in U.S. dollars. Unless otherwise noted, fares do not include all applicable taxes, charges and government fees.

Two specialty restaurants on the Silver Muse have an extra surcharge and require a reservation. These intimate venues offer a memorable meal and exquisite presentation. They are perfect for celebrating a special event like a birthday or anniversary. Both of these venues are tiny, so reservations should be booked before boarding if you want to dine on a select date. Dinner at The Grill is a favorite of many who love their steak cooked "just right".
Those looking to relax can head over to the Zagara Spa on Deck 6. Men's treatments, including haircuts, manicures and shaves are available, as are couples' massages. Treatments aren't cheap; you'll pay about what you would pay at a high-end resort on land. We found our deep tissue massage to be good but not necessarily worth the price.
Traditional Dining on the Silver Muse
After 6 p.m., the dress code is casual, informal, and formal depending on the day. Flip-flops, shorts, and jeans are not allowed in indoor venues after 6 p.m. The gym has free weights as well as cardio (treadmill, elliptical, and cycling) and weight machines. Personal training and spa treatments and a private spa room are available for a fee. There are four suites on the Silver Muse that are wheelchair accessible.

Shorts, jeans and T-shirts are common around the ship and in port. No jeans, shorts or flip flops are permitted in indoor venues after 6 p.m. Passengers on Silver Muse are generally in the baby boomer category, which Silversea unabashedly targets. Silver Muse draws an international crowd, particularly on more exotic and longer voyages; while the majority may be from the United States, you'll encounter Brits, Aussies, Europeans and South Americans as well.
Soft breezes and ocean views beckon at the Grill, especially as the sun goes down when cruise guests gather for cocktails at the outdoor bar and talk about the day’s events. The number of formal nights will depend on the length of your voyage. Cruises of less than 10 days have one formal night, cruises between 10 and 13 days have two, while longer cruises have three formal evenings. The Silver Muse dress code is more traditional than on other luxury cruise lines. It ranges from casual to formal depending on the time of day.
The ship's first drydock was in 2022 (May 1-14) conducted at Nanaimo Shipyard in Port Nanaimo (BC Canada). The 2-week project was for “limited operation maintenance" works before the Alaskan season (May 19 - Sept 8) based on 7-day one-ways between Seward AK and Vancouver BC. On December 10, 2015, was the keel-laying ceremony during which 8 coins (instead of the traditional 1) were welded into the keel. The "lucky coins" represented the 7 continents that Silversea ships visit, plus one specially designed for the ship coin. The coins were South African rand, Australian dollar, US half a dollar, Brazilian real, Italian euro, Singapore dollar and the commemorative Antarctica trust coin (designed for Silver Muse). The ceremony was attended by Enzo Visone (Silversea's CEO) and Raffaele Davassi (the shipyard's director).
The forward views from these suites are spectacular, and the large living room/dining room and private veranda provide exceptional space for entertaining new or old friends and family. The authentic Italian furnishings reflect the Silversea heritage. With its 2017 debut, Silver Muse became Silversea's flagship cruise vessel; with 596 passengers, it's the biggest in the fleet and provides a blueprint for how the Italian luxury cruise line plans to evolve. With a monochromatic yet elegant color palette in brown, tan, beige and cream, Silver Muse personifies a "European luxury," which whispers rather than screams.
Since the steaks, seafood, and vegetables are served on a hot rock, guests cook their own, so it should come out perfectly. A selection of side dishes and sauces accompany the grilled food. The steaks are yummy, but the salmon and prawns are also fun to cook. Veggie lovers have a selection of vegetables to choose from, and many foodies agree they taste so much better grilled than steamed. Where Silver Muse comes up short is its spa, which feels cramped and lacks the luxury you will find in other spots on the ship.
Silversea’s Silver Muse suites are luxurious, elegant and spacious, in fact they offer one of the highest space-per-guest rations of any luxury cruise accommodation. The 34 Silver Suites on decks 9, 10, and 11 are a favorite of many Silversea guests since they provide a luxurious apartment-like space, but are not as costly as the other three large suite categories. A one-bedroom Silver Suite measures a spacious 786-square-feet and expands to 1119-square-feet when families combine it with an adjoining Panorama Suite. In addition to the standard suites, the Silver Muse has four different categories of larger suites.
