Quality Offset and Digital Printers

print house

The goal was to build a prototype with the long-term goal of creating 3D printed houses that are cheaper and faster to build than traditional houses. 3D printing offers the chance to build houses faster, more accurately and cheaper than ever before. We will be showcasing some interesting 3D printed house projects that already exist, the advantages and disadvantages of 3D printed houses, and mentioning some 3D house printer companies who are working hard to commercialize the tech. Though currently only the cement structure of the houses are 3D printed, with advances in technology it is hoped that by the time the fifth house is built that other features, such as drainage pipes, will also be made using the house 3D printer.

Also in New York, we are now in week three of Alvin Bragg’s witch hunt, the first criminal trial of a former President of the United States. It is crystal clear from the opening arguments and evidence that this extraordinarily weak case is blatant lawfare and election interference during the height of the presidential campaign. 6090 is therefore not needed to protect against antisemitic discrimination; instead, it would likely chill free speech of students on college campuses by incorrectly equating criticism of the Israeli government with antisemitism,” the letter stated. The construction industry in Canada is currently facing a shortage of skilled labour. Since 3D printing requires fewer people for framing, it offers a certain advantage here. While there are references to 24-hour construction times in articles and advertisements touting 3D printed homes, no project has been able to demonstrate such a record. The Fibonacci House in British Columbia, for example, was built off-site in 11 days. The capabilities of the ARCS line of concrete 3D printers become immediately evident once stepping foot inside of an SQ4D printed home. The companies developing construction 3D printers for houses are still refining the technology, and do not have enough of these machines to build thousands of houses yet.

The team behind this extraordinary achievement now believe they could create a similar house in 33 hours, citing additional knowledge and tech advances. NASA has designed, with the company ICON, a 170 m2 3D printed habitat in order to simulate a mission to the Moon (Project Olympus), where buildings could be constructed using resources found on the Moon. For the moment, therefore, unless we use local bio-sourced elements as was done for the Tecla project, the 3D printing of buildings should be limited to these extra-planetary projects... House 3D printers therefore do not replace people, but complement them; doing the heavy lifting while the specialists do what they do best.

ARE TINY HOUSES FOR SALE LOCALLY A GOOD CHOICE FOR A FIRST HOME?

The same goes for ICON, which mentions printing a small building in Austin in 24 hours when instead the printing was done over several days. "ICON claimed that its technology "could" 3D print the building in 24 hours, but provided no documentation to prove it" (COBOD). For example, the house built in Windsor-Essex by Habitat for Humanity (Hh) was not built in 3-4 days, as mentioned by Chris Marin, lead 3D home printer operator (ICI Windsor, 2022).

print house

The first 3D house, built by the international organization Habitat for Humanity in Virginia, while it took only 28 hours to print the concrete walls, the construction site to complete the house took as long as a traditional house. With over 40 years of experience working with some of the most renowned brands and organizations in the country, we understand the importance of delivering high-quality print and promotional orders on time. With direct access to a dedicated account manager and customer service team, we will collaborate together to achieve your goals and develop custom solutions that fit your budget. From complex print designs to intricate distribution requirements, your project, your organization, and your brand are in very good hands at Print House. The house in Nantes, France built for £170K is an accurate cost for a habitable 3D printed building, not the outlandish claims to build a fully-functioning domicile for $4,000. The most exciting part is the recycled concrete, developed by Italcementi, which uses debris from demolition sites to create the 3D printable material.

This is simply not plausible for traditional builds as they are more restricted by the shape of bricks, whereas 3D housebuilding can create curved shapes without issue. This offers potential for more compelling designs, as well as creating custom houses to suit disabled people. We expect much more to come from Apis Cor in Dubai as this building is considered by them to be just a test for larger 3D printed house projects for the future. It is claimed to have been to test whether Apis Cor’s concrete 3D printer could print a building in Dubai’s heat — and passed with flying colors. While 3D printed houses are durable and resistant to climatic conditions, they have not yet been shown to perform better than conventional houses made of wood and bio-based materials. The 3D printed home, built in a week on a Milan square using recycled concrete, is around 100 square meters and contains a living area, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and roof terrace.

It never takes into account the foundations, roofs, windows, doors, interior and exterior finishes, plumbing, etc. In the context of 3D printing, the term "extruding" is often used to describe the process of depositing material layer by layer to create a three-dimensional object. In this case, "extruding" refers specifically to the method of pushing the printing material (usually a thermoplastic filament) through a heated nozzle, where it melts and is deposited onto a build platform to create the desired 3D shape. Printing, in general, refers to the process of creating text, images, or patterns on a surface, usually paper, by applying ink or other materials. This can be done using various methods, such as inkjet, laser, or screen printing. Just look at the abject failure of Columbia’s president to enforce their own code of conduct that they gave lip service to during the recent Education and Workforce hearing.

Italian house 3D printing company WASP built ‘Gaia’, a 3D printed hut made from a mix of concrete and mud-based material. The 215 square foot structure took 10 days to complete, though the total time when accounting for all the furnishings and additions would be longer. The most extraordinary part is that the hut cost just $1,000 in materials to build, though this doesn’t factor in labor and other costs. Therefore, 3D printed houses offer a solution to this lack of skilled builder problem. Large construction 3D printers can be brought to these impoverished areas where there are few skilled builders to build homes for people in poverty. This is an example of 3D printing helping improve the lives of society’s most vulnerable, and we commend ICON and New Story for their fantastic work here.

I will continue to lead on this issue, and House Republicans will expand our efforts on oversight with additional committee chairs with an announcement later today. It all comes at a time when college campuses and the federal government are struggling to define exactly where political speech crosses into antisemitism. Dozens of U.S. universities and schools face civil rights investigations by the Education Department over allegations of antisemitism and Islamophobia.

That said, "the housing problem has never been technological, it's social and economic, whether you're in San Francisco or the Salvator," says Lloyd Alter. SQ4D builds full-size concrete houses and commercial structures faster, safer, and stronger, while dramatically reducing costs, using 3D printing technology. No home design is safe from the evolution of technology as the Czech Republic sets sail on the new, more or less, 3D printed houseboat. This 462 square foot 3D printed house may be tiny, but it packs a serious punch in terms of gumption and sheer originality. Affectionately named the “office of the future”, the building was created by a 20-foot-tall concrete 3D printer using a robotic arm to deposit cement. Only one employee was needed to monitor the house 3D printer whilst it printed, and seven employees worked on building components of the office whilst the printer worked.

How to Make a Gingerbread House Recipe and Step by Step

how to make a gingerbread house

The dough is a little sticky from the molasses, so I recommend chilling in two discs before rolling out. Pipe royal icing to make decorative designs around the walls of the house and roof. Use royal icing to "glue" pieces of candy to the house. Another way of getting the walls and roof nice and sturdy is to make "sugar glue," just like the blog Houseful of Handmade recommends. You can stick the house right onto a board covered with aluminum foil and then glue the roof on. Roof piece will hang slightly over the edges.

Once the house has finished baking, let it completely cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. The dough can be wrapped and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Or once the cookie dough is rolled up, it can be stored in the freezer overnight (or up to 2 days if wrapped with plastic wrap).

Helpful Tips

Hold in place 1 to 2 minutes until icing starts to set. Use one to two jars or bottles for support underneath; allow to set 30 minutes. Attach front door, leaving slightly propped open; allow to set 30 minutes. Immediately after removing the gingerbread from the oven, place your prepared patterns on top of the dough. Use a sharp knife (or pizza cutter!) to trace and cut out each shape.

Easy Monkey Bread Recipe

Temperature differences in the ingredients can lead to this, but the dough will come together when the flour is added. Next mix in the vanilla and molasses (Images 7 & 8), until mixed through. Next, add the sugar, and cream the butter and sugar together until the mixture is creamy (Images 4 and 5).

How to Make a Gingerbread House Recipe

I find large houses difficult to construct and decorate. This is where it really helps to have more than two hands working on a house, and why making a gingerbread house is so much more fun with company than alone. If you are working on this alone, it may help to grab some canned goods from the pantry and use the cans to help prop up the pieces while the icing mortar is drying. This gingerbread house making project requires a trip to the candy section of your local grocery store. You can decorate your house with whatever types of candy please you.

It hides crumbs, sprinkles, drips of frosting, etc. and makes the finished project look so nice! Or rely on candy to create a festive winter wonderland scene! Some of my favorite places for sourcing fun candy for decorating gingerbread houses are stores like Home Goods, Target, and craft stores. Sometimes, I will just save leftover candy that doesn't get used for the next year, since it's not something we plan to eat anyway.

However, you can use unsulphured blackstrap molasses as well. But the taste will be different with blackstrap molasses, as it’s more bitter and salty with a potent molassey / mineral flavor. Festive recipes that bring the flavor, without breaking your budget. Remove the extra parts around the pieces you cut (you get to eat these “scraps” your reward for the day!”. Change speed to high and beat 7 to 10 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally, until very stiff. If desired, add gel food color to icing to create different looks for decorating. To attach the roof, pipe icing along the peaked edges of the front and back walls. Position roof pieces into place and let fully dry before decorating. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the gingerbread pieces on the prepared sheets to bake.

But, like dyeing Easter eggs, it’s a rewarding, hands-on way to connect to holiday traditions of the past. Stretched over a few winter evenings or a weekend, it’s a festive effort — especially with a group. By itself, your gingerbread house looks a little lonely, but a few smart additions can make it stand out. Start by covering the base of your creation in shredded coconut—it looks just like snow!

If you leave it out for decor, you can use a glass dome over a cake stand or platter to keep it fresher. Hold it high over the house and gently shake allowing the sugar to fall onto the roof of the gingerbread house. Piping bags and tips are crucial to creating a beautifully designed gingerbread house.

Honestly, just use whatever candies you like to eat. I don’t like licorice, so I don’t use it, but it can be used to decorate the house. Larger candy bars might be harder to incorporate, but you can use fun size candy bars for your house too. Alternatively, you can use melted chocolate to stick the gingerbread house pieces together. Chocolate will harden faster than royal icing, but it might be a little more messy to work with.

The thing I love about making gingerbread houses is that there is no right or wrong way to do it. Creativity is king and I love to see how everyone chooses to decorate their individual houses. We get an assortment of candy and have a fabulous time designing. Other than that, the recipes are pretty similar. Chilling the dough is imperative—otherwise the house pieces will lose shape and constructing will be impossible.

First, roll your dough to the proper thickness (I recommend ¼” thick — too thin and the sides may not hold up to the weight of the roof. ). Next, make sure to wait until your gingerbread has cooled completely before attempting to assemble it. I’ve had success with decorating mine right away, but do what works best for you. You'll want to find a gingerbread house template to make sure your walls and roof are perfectly even. Simply print it out, cut out the pieces, and measure them along your dough.

Our recipe uses egg whites and icing sugar. Once the house is baked and cooled and you have your icing made, it’s time to build the gingerbread house. Is that image inspiring — or intimidating? Worried you’ll end up with a crumbling, crooked shack, decorations dripping off, misshapen cookie inhabitants looking on with despair? This gingerbread house turns out so darling and are fun to create. They are made with a sturdy dough that is great for construction and tastes amazing too.

Grab a rimmed baking sheet to contain everything, then put your candies in little bowls. Raid the cake decorating aisle of your craft store or the candy aisle of your grocery store to find decorations. We used the items below to decorate our house, but let your creativity guide you. Whether you’re building the house from scratch or using a kit, these step-by-step instructions will show you exactly how to make a gingerbread house. The gingerbread dough can be rolled out, stacked between sheets of parchment paper on a sheet pan, tightly wrapped in plastic wrap, and frozen for up to 3 months. The icing makes a huge difference when decorating a house and gives it extra stability.

There are definitely a lot of similar shades within this type of finish (there are so many that I’ve omitted mattes, but I don’t doubt that there would be matte shades with a similar coloring). The Kissing formula is supposed to be pigmented and luminous, while also being hydrating. It has a creamier, lightweight consistency that's comfortable to wear and to apply with a moderately hydrating formula to back it. I find that some of the creamier shades can sit in my lip lines a bit, but it really depends on the shade on how noticeable it is in person.

“I love this formula because it adds a subtle shine to the lips without having to use a gloss. So you can get that on-trend lip gloss effect without any of the stickiness or risk of transferability,” he says. The lipsticks also give a contouring effect, which Buckle shares is excellent for red carpets. “They’re like your lips, but better—more defined, symmetrical, and full,” states Buckle.

Tilbury says, “I don’t want to see invisible women,” so her products make eyes look brighter and complexions more dewy, and are known for creating an intensely glamorous effect. Love bite is definitely my colour – and yours too Christine.

HOT LIPSCARINA'S LOVE

Perfect, full, kissable lips really do grow on trees… Charlotte’s debut range of lipsticks are truly remarkable and boast a fail-safe recipe for perfect lips. The unique formula features seed extracts from ‘The Lipstick Tree,’ a plant extract that is exclusive to Charlotte Tilbury. ‘The Lipstick Tree’ is a rare, exotic tree with nurturing and protective properties were originally discovered by Native American women who used the seeds to paint and protect their lips. With an anti-oxidant that naturally protects lips from UV damage and external pollution, lips are left cashmere soft and irresistible.

Velvet Underground Kissing Lipstick (£23.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bold, brightened fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It was incredibly pigmented, and it applied and wore beautifully for a solid six and a half hours, plus it left behind a stain that lingered for a couple more hours. It was neither drying nor hydrating while worn; it seemed slightly moisturizing initially but at the four-hour mark, it just seemed neither drying nor hydrating. Charlotte Tilbury is the godmother of Glow, with radiant products that leave your skin luminous. ” Buckle used Charlotte’s Hollywood Flawless Filter in shade 2 to give Chastain that signature Charlotte Tilbury glow. “Jessica doesn’t love a ton of shine, so we kept the application light—applying a few dots to the top of the nose, brow bone, and cheeks,” he shares.

charlotte tilbury kissing lipstick

However, the true highlight of her look was actually on her lips, with new lipsticks that aren’t set to launch for another week. Charlotte revealed to ELLE.com that she’s expanding her Hollywood Beauty Icon franchise to include two lipstick collections—a first for the franchise. The collection consists of Matte Revolution, featuring several red shades, while K.I.S.S.I.N.G. will be a collection of pink shades, which Tilbury has become known so well for. The latter is what Buckle used on Chastain for her big night. He played with a few of the pink lipsticks to create a signature look.

Charlotte Tilbury Love Bite Kissing Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brightened, medium red with subtle, neutral-to-warm undertones and a luminous finish. I think this may look bluer-based on those with strong, cool undertones, but it seems more neutral to lightly warm-toned when I swatch it next to more distinctively blue-based lipsticks. It had rich, full color coverage that went on evenly and smoothly. This shade wore well for over six hours and left a stain behind. It was lightly hydrating over time and comfortable to wear.

My AIRbrush Flawless Lip Blur is available in 8 FLAWLESS shades that were BORN BACKSTAGE, including my ICONIC Pillow Talk and Walk of No Shame hues! The world’s most beguiling makeup artist on beauty, stars, love, and sex. Christine Mielke is the editor-in-chief and has been reviewing products for over 14 years. The average rating based on all reviewed shade(s) in this formula is shown below. After parting ways with Charlotte Tilbury, Hadid now plans to unveil her own cosmetics and wellness company, Orebella, in May.

How to make a gingerbread house and cute gingerbread people, too

how to make a gingerbread house

Repeat the process with the back wall and a second side. The exact time will depend on how thick the icing is applied, but it should be dry to the touch. Baking and decorating a gingerbread house is one of the sweetest traditions of the season. And if you have kids home for the holidays, making a gingerbread house together can be a great way to get the whole family into the holiday spirit.

Homemade Subway Bread Recipe

how to make a gingerbread house

My journey isn’t over, even though I’ve completed six rounds of chemotherapy and undergone surgery. I wonder where I’ll end up at the end of all this, on leave from my job and pulled from my life in D.C. I worry about my friends with cancer as they fight their own battles, and the other young people trying to understand why this happened to them.

Buttery Breakfast Casserole

Place both pieces of the roof on top where they go and gently press into place. Use a can to support the roof as needed. Let the house dry for at least 30 minutes before decorating. Pipe a thick layer of icing on the second wall piece and put it in between the front and back of the house, opposite of the other wall. Use cans to help support the structure as needed and let this much of the assembled house sit for 15 minutes to allow the icing time to harder. Here’s the video tutorial to guide you along.

Easy Homemade Biscuits

It needs to be able to hold up to humidity and sitting out for a few weeks, so it bakes really hard and strong. That said, my kids kept nibbling on spare pieces of the gingerbread whenever I wasn’t looking. You’ll need to read the label of each one you buy to make sure it’s edible. However, most gingerbread house kits are intended to be consumed. That means that everything inside the kit, from the gingerbread itself to the candy and icing, is safe to consume.

How long does it take a gingerbread house to dry?

People are quick to tell me their own theories, like being on birth control or storing my phone in my bra. Everyone around me is trying to understand how this could happen to someone my age. Because if it can happen to me, it can happen to them, too. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October. All recipes on Curly Girl Kitchen are developed for high altitude at 5,280 feet. See FAQs for adjusting to higher or lower elevations.

Once you’ve added your decorations and allowed time for the frosting to set, it’s time to build your house. Your gingerbread house looks great as is, but if you want to add an extra element, build a chimney, adjoining room or window out of graham crackers. Use the crackers and icing to build a basic frame, and let dry. Then attach the addition to your house with icing. In the name of research (and for the sake of this year’s cookie cottage), I chatted with our Test Kitchen to learn how to make a gingerbread house.

😊 Just make sure the gingerbread, frosting, and candy are properly handled with clean hands, and the house was covered while being completed. It’s also crucial to use meringue powder to make royal icing. Raw egg whites don’t have a great shelf life. This is why my recipe for royal icing for gingerbread house uses meringue powder. It’s more shelf-stable and safe to eat even after a few days at room temperature.

If the dough is soft, then I recommend rolling it out between two pieces of parchment paper (Image 23). While the dough is chilling, prepare the gingerbread house template. You can even do this the day before, to save time.

After I received my full treatment plan, she also introduced me to a support group. Some people are recently diagnosed, like me, or re-diagnosed, and others have met their five-year remission milestone. When I joined, the group made me feel less alone. I’ve felt the most pressure on my decision not to retrieve my eggs, since my treatment impacts my fertility.

The dough and gingerbread is very forgiving! It's not necessary, but I also recommend scoring the cuts before baking and then fully cutting them while hot. Place the candies, icing, decorating bags and decorating tips off to the side. Unwrap the gingerbread house pieces and make sure they have no cracks or chips.

Make sure to scrape the sides of the bowl so that the butter and sugar mix well. It’s important that the butter and sugar are creamy at this stage, but the mix doesn’t have to be too fluffy. Both are added for flavor for the gingerbread cookie. Due to the strong flavors in gingerbread dough, vanilla isn’t necessary. I use less cloves because I find ground cloves can easily overpower the gingerbread house flavors. Find everything you need to make your perfect holiday gingerbread house with our From Scratch Gingerbread House Set.

Step 17 – Assembling the side walls of the gingerbread house. Choose the base on which you will build the gingerbread house. A cake board works well, but you can also use anything else that is food-safe and flat for a flat surface. Add the flour a little at a time, and mix it in by “pulsing” (turning on the mixer in short bursts) the stand mixer on low speed (Image 9). This will prevent the flour from flying everywhere, and the dough from being overmixed.

For the few that are not, we’ve included notes to help you find what you need (or hack another solution). As for equipment, you probably have most of what’s needed, particularly if you bake often. A few dashing gingerbread men are also a nice touch.

Silversea's Silver Muse Cruise Ship, 2024, 2025 and 2026 Silver Muse destinations, deals and ship info

silver muse cruise ship

No matter their nationality, passengers are well traveled, affluent, curious and friendly. Children 6 months and older are permitted to sail, but you won't find many kids onboard. You'll see more children -- often traveling with grandparents and parents -- on shorter sailings and during the holidays and over summer. Throw in some really excellent casual fare – pizza, salads and burgers -- and it's idyllic for a sea day. In fact, Silver Muse has lots of open outdoor space; the back of Decks 7, 8 and 9 all feature casual outdoor seating.

Silversea introduces 86 new cruises for winter 2021-2022

Also included in the cruise fare are specialty teas and coffees. Butler service is included for every guest, it’s a real treat. I also include video tours so you can see what they are really like.

Royal 2 Suite

In addition, guests staying in the Grand Suites can enjoy a complimentary dinner at La Dame. These 240-square foot suites have a large window and sitting area but do not have a veranda. The rest of the amenities are the same as seen in other suite categories. Silver Muse follows a casual dress code during the day, when passengers wear comfortable and weather/activity-appropriate clothing.

Suite (DX)

Whether you choose to enjoy the musical talents of the Voices of Silversea in the Venetian Lounge, or learn more about your itinerary during an enriching on board lecture, there’s entertainment for everyone. Curl up with a good book (and even better view!) at Tor’s Observation Library, enjoy a dip in the pool, relax in the Thermal Suite or work up a sweat at one of the fitness classes. With a staggering eight dining options, there really is a restaurant to suit every palette on board, from the exotic tastes of Asia at Indochine to the authentic flavours of Naples at Spaccanapoli. All fares are per person based on double occupancy in U.S. dollars. Unless otherwise noted, fares do not include all applicable taxes, charges and government fees.

Two specialty restaurants on the Silver Muse have an extra surcharge and require a reservation. These intimate venues offer a memorable meal and exquisite presentation. They are perfect for celebrating a special event like a birthday or anniversary. Both of these venues are tiny, so reservations should be booked before boarding if you want to dine on a select date. Dinner at The Grill is a favorite of many who love their steak cooked "just right".

Those looking to relax can head over to the Zagara Spa on Deck 6. Men's treatments, including haircuts, manicures and shaves are available, as are couples' massages. Treatments aren't cheap; you'll pay about what you would pay at a high-end resort on land. We found our deep tissue massage to be good but not necessarily worth the price.

Traditional Dining on the Silver Muse

After 6 p.m., the dress code is casual, informal, and formal depending on the day. Flip-flops, shorts, and jeans are not allowed in indoor venues after 6 p.m. The gym has free weights as well as cardio (treadmill, elliptical, and cycling) and weight machines. Personal training and spa treatments and a private spa room are available for a fee. There are four suites on the Silver Muse that are wheelchair accessible.

silver muse cruise ship

Shorts, jeans and T-shirts are common around the ship and in port. No jeans, shorts or flip flops are permitted in indoor venues after 6 p.m. Passengers on Silver Muse are generally in the baby boomer category, which Silversea unabashedly targets. Silver Muse draws an international crowd, particularly on more exotic and longer voyages; while the majority may be from the United States, you'll encounter Brits, Aussies, Europeans and South Americans as well.

Soft breezes and ocean views beckon at the Grill, especially as the sun goes down when cruise guests gather for cocktails at the outdoor bar and talk about the day’s events. The number of formal nights will depend on the length of your voyage. Cruises of less than 10 days have one formal night, cruises between 10 and 13 days have two, while longer cruises have three formal evenings. The Silver Muse dress code is more traditional than on other luxury cruise lines. It ranges from casual to formal depending on the time of day.

The ship's first drydock was in 2022 (May 1-14) conducted at Nanaimo Shipyard in Port Nanaimo (BC Canada). The 2-week project was for “limited operation maintenance" works before the Alaskan season (May 19 - Sept 8) based on 7-day one-ways between Seward AK and Vancouver BC. On December 10, 2015, was the keel-laying ceremony during which 8 coins (instead of the traditional 1) were welded into the keel. The "lucky coins" represented the 7 continents that Silversea ships visit, plus one specially designed for the ship coin. The coins were South African rand, Australian dollar, US half a dollar, Brazilian real, Italian euro, Singapore dollar and the commemorative Antarctica trust coin (designed for Silver Muse). The ceremony was attended by Enzo Visone (Silversea's CEO) and Raffaele Davassi (the shipyard's director).

The forward views from these suites are spectacular, and the large living room/dining room and private veranda provide exceptional space for entertaining new or old friends and family. The authentic Italian furnishings reflect the Silversea heritage. With its 2017 debut, Silver Muse became Silversea's flagship cruise vessel; with 596 passengers, it's the biggest in the fleet and provides a blueprint for how the Italian luxury cruise line plans to evolve. With a monochromatic yet elegant color palette in brown, tan, beige and cream, Silver Muse personifies a "European luxury," which whispers rather than screams.

Since the steaks, seafood, and vegetables are served on a hot rock, guests cook their own, so it should come out perfectly. A selection of side dishes and sauces accompany the grilled food. The steaks are yummy, but the salmon and prawns are also fun to cook. Veggie lovers have a selection of vegetables to choose from, and many foodies agree they taste so much better grilled than steamed. Where Silver Muse comes up short is its spa, which feels cramped and lacks the luxury you will find in other spots on the ship.

Silversea’s Silver Muse suites are luxurious, elegant and spacious, in fact they offer one of the highest space-per-guest rations of any luxury cruise accommodation. The 34 Silver Suites on decks 9, 10, and 11 are a favorite of many Silversea guests since they provide a luxurious apartment-like space, but are not as costly as the other three large suite categories. A one-bedroom Silver Suite measures a spacious 786-square-feet and expands to 1119-square-feet when families combine it with an adjoining Panorama Suite. In addition to the standard suites, the Silver Muse has four different categories of larger suites.

Barclays and Carnival Renew Travel Rewards Credit Card Program

carnival cruise mastercard

You can qualify for a 10% discount in the form of a statement credit when you use the card to purchase a Carnival shore excursions package before your cruise. You can redeem FunPoints for statement credits toward a variety of purchases, though you'll potentially get the most value for them when you redeem them as credits to offset eligible Carnival purchases. And if you're planning to take to the seas with this cruise line, the $0-annual-fee Carnival World Mastercard can definitely defray some of your costs.

Our credit card methodology

The benefits of using a credit card issued by the cruise line itself are worth considering. Guests can use the cards for bookings for all and onboard all the ships within Carnival’s World Leading Cruise Lines. These include AIDA, Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa, Cunard, Holland America, Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises Australia, P&O Cruises UK, and Seabourn. Carnival Corporation and Barclays have worked together since 2004, with the bank being the official issuer of Carnival’s travel rewards credit cards in the US. Get extra rewards when you cruise

Unfortunately, the Carnival™ World MasterCard® doesn’t offer a robust rewards program, even compared with some general travel credit cards that have no annual fee. However, these cards often limit you to using your rewards based on that specific partner’s rewards program. General travel credit cards, on the other hand, typically offer rewards that you can redeem for just about any travel purchases. The Carnival World Mastercard is currently offering a sign-up bonus of 20,000 FunPoints after your first purchase or balance transfer. The 20,000 FunPoints can be redeemed as a statement credit of $200 off your next cruise purchase.

The Carnival World MasterCard

The 5% transfer fee means an additional $350 will be added to their balance due. Anyone who regularly cruises with Carnival can benefit from the way reward points are issued back to them through statement credits. The most valuable rewards -- 20,000 FunPoints as a welcome offer and points earned on purchases -- can only be used toward Carnival purchases. The Carnival® World Mastercard® -- cobranded with Barclays -- may appeal to fans of Carnival Cruise Lines, but for others, it's likely to fall short. Its most attractive feature is an APR of 0% for 15 billing cycles on balance transfers. Read our in-depth Carnival® World Mastercard® review to learn if the card offers the perks and benefits that are right for you.

Can I use my Carnival Credit Card anywhere?

The balance transfer fee on the Carnival® World Mastercard® is $5 or 5% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater. While nearly all balance transfer offers include a fee, many balance transfer cards charge 3% rather than 5%. Say a cardholder transfers $7,000 of high-interest debt from other credit card companies.

With hundreds of dollars in credits that can be applied to a first cruise, the cards on offer from Carnival and Barclays are undoubtedly worth a look. Besides these benefits, the Princess Cruises card offers guests a concierge service; the Holland America card allows guests to use points towards airfare, with many more options on offer. Those points can then be used as a redemption for the onboard statements of account. Five thousand points translate into a $50 credit, which can also be redeemed up to six months post-cruise.

0% introductory APR for the first fifteen billing cycles following each balance transfer that posts to your account within 45 days of account opening. The credit card program the companies offer enables guests to save a considerable amount of money on onboard purchases and tours and save points that can be cashed in for onboard amenities. Many credit cards require that you spend a certain amount before qualifying for a sign-up bonus, but this one doesn’t. The Carnival World Mastercard also offers an APR promotion on purchases, but as of April 2023 it was on only "qualifying Carnival cruise booking purchases," and for only six billing cycles. Otherwise, the ongoing APR varies depending on your credit but can range well above 20%.

If you’re heading on a cruise that docks in another country, some credit cards might tack an extra fee on your foreign purchases — typically 3%. The Carnival™ World MasterCard® can save you money on souvenirs and excursions because it doesn’t charge that fee. When you choose to apply (and are approved) for a new credit card through our site, we may receive compensation from our partners, and this may impact how or where these products appear. The stores and boutiques on board sell a wide range of merchandise ranging from tchotchkes and souvenirs to jewelry and electronics. And purchases made at sea are tax-free, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be less expensive than what you find ashore. But, you may find a unique, must-have item or find yourself needing to buy toiletries you forgot to pack, and your OBC can really come in handy. As is the case with shore excursions, if you plan on using your OBC to enjoy specialty restaurants, be aware that you can only make reservations once you're on board the ship. That means there's always the chance that your restaurant of choice might fill up by that time, so try to book your reservations as soon as you can. Any restaurant onboard that's not included in your cruise fare is a specialty restaurant that will charge a nominal fee.

That includes onboard purchases with the Sail & Sign® program, Carnival’s cashless onboard credit program. But like other co-branded credit cards, your options with the Carnival™ World MasterCard® can be limited when it comes to earning and redeeming your rewards. For additional options, see our full list of the best travel rewards credit cards.
